Louisiana Forestry Initiative Landowner Interest

Louisiana Forestry Initiative (LFI) brings together the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries, Louisiana Department of Agriculture and Forestry, United States Forest Service, and National Bobwhite & Grassland Initiative Foundation to help landowners restore and strengthen Louisiana’s forests. We’re creating a streamlined, customer-friendly cost-share system that helps landowners improve forest health, reduce wildfire risk, restore bottomland hardwoods and upland ecosystems. We’re especially focused on reaching historically underserved landowners, using GIS-based planning, modern digital tools, and field-level technical support to make conservation simple, accessible, and effective. This effort will deliver healthier forests, stronger communities, and long-term ecosystem benefits across Louisiana.
